The photography of Anna Schroll shows a natural empathy for outstanding motives. Her selections are truly individual and creative, making them seem intimate and unique. Yet at the same time they are detached from the environments they are taken from, radiating a very expressive, nearly iconic look. When there is motion the cam-era has to reconcile with Anna Schroll captures it vividly and with so great authentic-ity that movements seem to overflow in- and onto the photograph. Contrastingly, in her more abstract pictures she even seems to lend motion to still objects. All these tendencies are, considering her young age, open to further development, refinement and perfection according to Anna Schroll calling her approach to photography still a work in progress.
